For the past couple of years, Liz Gohm of Gohm Insurance Restoration has shown much appreciated support in the Saginaw Township area and in Saginaw County. Gohmhas donated numerous children's bicycles for prizes at October Pancake Breakfasts and just recently for our 50th Anniversary Celebration. Gohm has donated the OSB wood for our May 2009 Flash Over Training.
Gohm has recently started to assist in sponsoring our sports teams. It began with sponsorship fees for fire fighter golf outings and the One Hundred Club golf outing (which supports local police and fire departments). Gohm began sponsoring the Hoses (fire fighters) in the Annual Guns and Hoses game. They plan on helping again in the third annual hockey game this coming year. Along with hockey, a men's Spring hockey league team was formed with mostly STFD fire fighters and a few other fire fighters from surrounding communities. They play at the Saginaw Bay Ice Arena. You can find Liz at most of the games cheering them on!
Last Fall, Gohm sponsored the first co-ed softball team in Saginaw Township, who in 2008 took first place in the regular season and first place in the end of the season tournament. On this team there were 4 STFD fire fighters and family members. Great job Gohm! In 2009, a team consisting of mostly STFD fire fighters was formed for Team Gohm and will be playing in Thomas Township Slo-Pitch. Good luck STFD and Team Gohm.
